Here’s a list of some of the most popular Asian foods.


1. Qaboli Palao – Afghanistan

Qaboli Palao is the national dish of Afghanistan. It is consists of meat & stock, topped with fried raisins, slivered


carrots and pistachios. It is a dish in which a grain, such as rice or cracked wheat, is browned in oil, and then


cooked in a seasoned broth.



2. Peking Duck – China

One of the most famous dishes from China is Peking Duck or Peking Roast Duck. The dish is prized for the thin,


crispy skin. It is often eaten with pancakes, spring onions and hoisin sauce or sweet noodle sauce.



3. Rendang – Indonesia

This delicious and popular food in Indonesia is made from beef slowly cooked in coconut oil and spices for several


hours until almost all the liquid is gone, allowing the meat to absorb the spicy condiments.



4. Larb – Laos

Larb is a meat salad most often made with chicken, beef, duck, turkey, pork and fish, flavored with fish sauce and


lime. The meat can be either raw or cooked; it is minced and mixed with chili, mint and assorted vegetables.

The name is derived from the Persian word berya which means “fried” or “roasted”.



6. Mohinga – Myanmar

This very popular Burmese food called Mohinga which is usually eaten as breakfast is rice vermicelli in fish soup.


It is considered by many to be the national dish of Myanmar. It is readily available in most parts of the country. In


major cities, street hawkers and roadside stalls sell dozens of dishes of mohinga.

This unique Philippine food is a boiled, grilled or deep-fried part of pig’s head and liver chopped in tiny pieces and


seasoned with onion, chili pepper, calamansi and mayonnaise and sometimes top with fresh egg.



8. Ema Datsi – Bhutan

homemade cheese and hot peppers. Cheese is produced by several ethnic minority groups by either using goat’s


milk or cow’s milk.



9. Kibbeh – Lebanon

This is not a nut or vegetable fruit it’s Kibbeh, a dish made of burghul and chopped meat. The best-known variety


is a torpedo-shaped fried croquette stuffed with minced beef or lamb. Other types of kibbeh may be shaped into


balls or patties, and baked or cooked in broth.



10. Kimchi Jjigae – South Korea

Kimchi is a very popular food in Korea and it has many variations, one of which is Kimchi jjigae. It is a variety of


jjigae or stew-like dish made with kimchi and other ingredients which include scallions, pork, onions, diced tofu


and seafood.



11. Nihari – Pakistan

One very popular dish eaten as breakfast in Pakistan is Nihari. It is a stew made from beef shank and spices.


Nihari is known for its spiciness and taste.



12. Mansaf – Jordan

Mansaf is popular dish in Jordan. It is a dish made of lamb cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and


served with rice that originated in Arabia. Today it has been adopted as the national dish of Jordan.



13. Menemen – Turkey

Menemen is a dish commonly eaten for breakfast with bread. It includes egg, onion, tomato and green peppers


(paprika) and spices (such as ground black pepper, ground red pepper, salt, oregano, and mint). Turkish


sausages such as Sucuk or Pastırma and Black or Green olives can also be included as ingredients.



14. Cahn Chua – Vietnam

This recipe, which literally means “sour soup”, is similar to Philippines’ “Sinigang”. It is a sour soup typically made


with fish from the Mekong River, pineapple, and tomatoes. Okra and bean sprout are also added. It is flavored


with tamarind broth and garnished with the lemony-scented herb ngo om (Limnophila aromatica), caramelized


garlic, and chopped scallions, as well as other herbs.



15. Kabsa – Saudi Arabia

Kabsa is a very popular in Saudi Arabia. It is family of rice dishes that are served not only in Saudi but also in


other Arab states of the Persian Gulf. It is made from a mixture of spices, rice, meat and vegetables. There are


many kinds of Kabsa and each kind has uniqueness about it.
